Touch is a Musical that ran in NYC at the Village Arena Theater and elsewhere between November 1970 and the end of 1971 and later. There was a brief revival Off-Off-B'way in 2011.
The recordings here are from the second preview that was done at Plowright Playhouse, Scandia, PA before the show was cut down to size for New York - there are 20 songs and a 2 hour 20 minute runtime (not counting intermission).
The show was conceived and written by Kenn Long. Amy Saltz, the original director, contributed significantly to the script.
Jim Crozier wrote some of the music, and was the original Musical Director. Kenn Long wrote all of the lyrics except Windchild.
Gary Graham wrote the song Windchild that was one of the original inspirations for the show.I am preparing to do a concert presentation of the music. Here are some charts that I will post as they come into existance.
Note: As of April 2020 I got a turntable and finally copied the Original Cast Album to digital.
Here are the tracks from the Original Cast Ablum followed by tracks from the original performance.01-Windchild.mp3
I'll write some more on this page - just trying to get it posted for now.
I recently got an old tape deck so I could recover some of my old tapes, this was one of them - it was recorded on my old Sony reel-to-reel that I got as a Freshman at IUP, I was in my second year at IUP when all this happened.
